“LOUISE,” THE PRODUCTION assistant calls me from behind the cameras, trying to juggle an iPad, a phone and a plate of the tapas I made at the same time. “Zion will have his lunch in his studio. A Caesar. As quickly as you can get it to him.”

My hands shake as I make the salad that will serve as a pretext for me to visit him in his studio. I almost cut my fingers as I slice the chicken, and I barely save the bowl as I walk on rickety legs towards his studio. It almost happens as I bump into Marcia Goth Kate Moss’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry,” she says with fake remorse. One look at her is enough for me to see she did it on purpose. Bitch is starting to get on my nerves. I give her a dirty look and make to walk around her, but she grabs my shoulder.

“Come have lunch with us.” I’ve read funeral invitations that sounded more enthusiastic. She must know where I’m going.

I never even imagined I’d enjoy holding my advantages with a guy in another woman’s face. On the contrary, I’ve been on the receiving end of that shit a couple of times, but I guess never say never, huh?

“Oh, I’m sorry, Marcia. Had you asked yesterday or, I don’t know, any other day these past few weeks, I would have happily obliged. But Zion called me to the studio, so...” I hold up the Caesar salad in her face, and start walking again.

The grin of satisfaction still hasn’t wiped off my face when she grabs me again, this time harsher.

“Do you think you’re something special to him?” Her jaw is locked, and she can barely unclench her teeth while she speaks. “He’s going to use you and throw you away like a used condom. One or two quickies, and you’re history.”

“Oh? Then I should be history already,” I lie, my grin spreading wider. I wouldn’t enjoy this so much if I didn’t feel her hatred for me so acutely.

“You slept with him?” she hisses.

I raise my chin to spite her. “Why do you think he came to the cabins last night?”

I make a show of how I stare her up and down.

“What are you even doing here, Marcia? I mean, look at you. You’re model material. Tall, great body, beautiful, just beautiful face.” I stress the word beautiful, making sure she gets my sarcasm. “You should be on a runway somewhere, not serving the Dark Angels backstage. That’s for people like me. You know, nondescript people, people that don’t stand out. Oh wait.” I tap my lips with my finger as if it just dawned on me. “You were hoping you’d get together with one of them, and they’d help with your modeling career, am I right?”

“The only Angel I was ever interested in was Zion.” Her fists are tight by her sides, her rings biting into her skin. She’s obviously dying to hit me.

“Oh, that’s strange, because I heard you straddled Diesel in a photo booth once, on a shooting break at the mall in Manhattan.
